Roller garage doors open vertically, rolling up and out of the way when opened, with little intrusion into your garage space. They can be fitted inside, in-between, or outside your garage opening, allowing you to make the most of your garage space and driveway. Roller garage doors can be made-to-measure and are available in large sizes, making them a popular solution for bigger garage openings.

Installing a new or replacement roller garage door is a technical task that is best left to a door fitting specialist. Roller doors may seem simple enough to operate but if they aren’t installed properly they will quickly fail, as they contain multiple moving parts and experience numerous stresses when used. Here at The Pegasus Door Company, we understand that arranging the installation of your new roller door can be tricky amongst a busy schedule – that’s why we offer a bespoke installation service. Our experienced and friendly team will tailor the service to your unique requirements while ensuring that your new roller door can withstand the rigours of everyday use.

The amount of headroom you need for a roller garage door depends on the type of roller door you are looking to install. Here in the UK, the two main types of roller doors are constructed from non-insulated, single skin steel or double skinned aluminium slats with an insulated foam core. Standard-sized single skin roller doors typically require a minimum of 420mm headroom inside your garage to allow space for the rolled-up steel curtain (this figure will increase for higher doors). Double skinned aluminium roller doors require less internal headroom (typically around 300mm) as the individual slats roll up more tightly, allowing the curtain to roll around a smaller barrel.
We offer a wide range of both insulated and non-insulated roller garage doors – get in touch to discuss your requirements with an experienced roller door fitter.
An insulated or ‘double skinned’ roller garage door is a worthwhile investment, offering higher security and a greater level of noise control than a non-insulated, single skin roller door. Insulated roller doors are specifically designed to maximise thermal efficiency, allowing you to keep your garage at a comfortable temperature all year round. This makes insulated roller doors a great option for garage spaces that have been converted for use as gyms, offices, and other additional living spaces.
